"ਜਾ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਾਗੋ" is a beautiful Shabad by Guru Arjan Dev Ji Maharaj that explains who the true warrior really is. ਜਾ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਾਗੋ ਇਸੁ ਜੁਗ ਮਹਿ ਸੋ ਕਹੀਅਤ ਹੈ ਸੂਰਾ ॥

ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਫਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਸਲ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਉਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੋ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿੱਤ ਲਵੇ, ਸਗੋਂ ਉਹ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਵੱਸ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਸਲ ਲੜਾਈਆਂ ਜਿੱਤਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਆਤਮ ਜਿਣੈ ਸਗਲ ਵਸਿ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ॥੧॥

ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਜਿੱਤਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਮਨ ਵੱਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦੋਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਡੋਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ।

ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਗਾਈਐ ਆਤਮ ਰੰਗਿ ॥

ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਬੋਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸਗੋਂ ਦਿਲ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਨਾਲ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਸਰਣੀ ਪਾਵਨ ਨਾਮ ਧਿਆਵਨ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਵਨ ਸੰਗਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਹੌਲੀ-ਹੌਲੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ-ਰੂਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਅਸਲ ਆਨੰਦ ਹੈ। ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਜਨ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਵਸਹਿ ਮੇਰੈ ਹੀਅਰੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਪੁਨੀਤਾ ਦੇਹੀ ॥

ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸਣ। ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਸਹੀ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਜਨ ਕੀ ਧੂਰਿ ਦੇਹੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਏਹੀ ॥੨॥੪॥੩੫॥

ਹੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੇ ਸਾਗਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼। ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਫਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਕੋਈ ਸੁਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਅਤੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ। ॥੨॥੪॥੩੫॥

Shabad Meaning

Guru Arjan Dev Ji teaches that true courage is not measured by physical strength but by spiritual victory. The person who conquers ego, remains absorbed in the love of Waheguru, and walks according to the Guru's teachings is the real hero. Through Naam Simran, the company of saints, and complete surrender to God, one attains inner peace, humility, and freedom from worldly attachment. The greatest blessing is to remain in the company of God's devotees and stay connected with His Name.

The message of "Ja Kau Har Rang Laago" inspires us to become spiritual warriors by conquering our own minds instead of competing with others.
