ਦੇਵਗੰਧਾਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੯ ॥

ਜਗਤ ਮੈ ਝੂਠੀ ਦੇਖੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥

ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਿਚ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਬਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਫਰਮਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਸਵਾਰਥ ਉੱਤੇ ਟਿਕੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ।

ਅਪਨੇ ਹੀ ਸੁਖ ਸਿਉ ਸਭ ਲਾਗੇ ਕਿਆ ਦਾਰਾ ਕਿਆ ਮੀਤ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਚਾਹੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਸਾਥੀ ਹੋਵੇ ਜਾਂ ਮਿੱਤਰ, ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਖ ਅਤੇ ਲਾਭ ਦੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹੀ ਇਸ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦਾ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਦੀ ਖੋਜ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਮੇਰਉ ਮੇਰਉ ਸਭੈ ਕਹਤ ਹੈ ਹਿਤ ਸਿਉ ਬਾਧਿਓ ਚੀਤ ॥

ਮੋਹ ਅਤੇ ਮਮਤਾ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਹਰ ਕੋਈ "ਮੇਰਾ" ਅਤੇ "ਮੇਰੀ" ਦੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੱਝਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਲਗਾਵ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਅੰਤਿ ਕਾਲਿ ਸੰਗੀ ਨਹ ਕੋਉ ਇਹ ਅਚਰਜ ਹੈ ਰੀਤਿ ॥੧॥

ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਅੰਤਿਮ ਸਮੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਰਿਸ਼ਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ। ਇਹ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੀ ਅਨੋਖੀ ਪਰ ਸੱਚੀ ਰੀਤ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਸਮਝਣਾ ਹੈ।

ਮਨ ਮੂਰਖ ਅਜਹੂ ਨਹ ਸਮਝਤ ਸਿਖ ਦੈ ਹਾਰਿਓ ਨੀਤ ॥

ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਬਾਰ-ਬਾਰ ਸਮਝਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਵੀ ਮਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਨਾਨਕ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਰੈ ਜਉ ਗਾਵੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਗੀਤ ॥੨॥

ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਮੋਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

Shabad Meaning

Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji teaches that worldly relationships, wealth, and possessions are temporary. True peace is found only through devotion to God. When a person sings the praises of the Lord and remembers His Name, attachment fades and spiritual wisdom awakens.

Conclusion

This beautiful Shabad encourages us to look beyond temporary worldly attachments and build a lasting relationship with the Divine. While worldly relations have their place in life, only God's Naam remains with us at all times and ultimately helps us cross the ocean of worldly existence.
